LaRuby May Sworn-In as Ward 8 Council Member

ACC, along with all of Ward 8, welcomes LaRuby May as DC Councilmember of Ward 8, filling the unexpired term of the late Ward 8 Councilmember and former Mayor Marion Barry.  With an impassioned, inspiring message of the preacher's daughter she is, Councilmember May caused the overflow audience at the Wilson Building to sit up and take notice.  Among several things, May pledged to be "the hardest-working" servant and advocate for Ward 8.  An enthusiastic Ward 8 contingent expressed their approval in Council chambers at the fact that Ward 8 has, at last, a seat at the table.
